For those who prefer in-person training, we are holding the following training days in 2025:
February 1st: Essentials and Refresher, Gunnedah Anglican Church. RSVP to gunnedah.anglican@gmail.com
February 22nd: Essentials and Refresher, St Paul’s West Tamworth. RSVP to office@stpaulstamworth.org.au
March 8th: Essentials and Refresher, Lightning Ridge Community Church. RSVP to communitychurch@lightningridge.com.au
March 29th: Refresher only, Narrabri Anglican Church. RSVP to office@narrabrianglican.org
All training days will start at 9:30am. Essentials training will finish at 3:30pm and Refresher training will finish at 1pm.
Safe ministry essentials is for anyone who has never done the safe ministry training before, or for those whose certificate expired more than three months previously. This training will take 5-6 hours to complete.
Safe ministry refresher is for those whose safe ministry certificate has not yet expired (or expired less than three months previously). You need to do a refresher course every three years to remain up-to-date. This training will take around 3 hours to complete.
Both face-to-face courses cost $15. You can pay by cash on the day.
If you are attending Essentials training, there will be a break for lunch. Please bring your own food.

The Next Phase Conference is for anyone aged 50(ish) and over. There are many ‘next phases’ that we go through (kids growing up and leaving home, grandkids arriving, work changes, ageing) and we want to encourage everyone to stay strong in their faith through them all.
This year, Mike Raiter and Dave Jensen will be our guest speakers. Mike will open Hebrews 11 and 12 with us as we think through what it means to ‘live in the light of Christ’s return’. Dave will be our dinner speaker and present a couple of seminars on how we can best share our faith with the people around us. On top of that, there will be many opportunities for fellowship over good food.
For the first time, we are offering early-bird discounts! If you register before March 31st, tickets will cost $10 less each day (or $20 less if you get a weekend ticket). You can register here.
Are you a lay preacher, interested in preaching in the future, or supporting lay preachers in your parish? The Lay Preaching Day is for you! This is a day of training and encouragement for all the men and women in our Diocese who teach God’s word to others.
