Working with Children

A New South Wales Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone involved in child-related ministry in the Diocese of Armidale. It involves a national criminal history check and review of any findings of workplace misconduct.

The result of a Working with Children Check is either a clearance to work with children for five years, or a bar against working with children.

The Check is fully portable which means it can be used for any paid or unpaid child-related work in New South Wales for as long as a worker remains cleared.

Only paid workers in child-related work (clergy and others) are required to pay a fee of $80 for a five-year clearance. The Working with Children Check remains free for volunteers and students over 18 years on professional placement.
