On Saturday 27th August, Darrell Parker was elected as the next bishop of the Diocese of North West Australia. This is great news for the gospel even though we will sorely miss Darrell and Elizabeth in the Armidale Diocese and the great encouragement they have been (and remain) to so many. We look forward to hearing about how God will be working through their ministry in the future. Please be praying for Darrell and Elizabeth and their family, as well as the Diocese of North West Australia and the parish of St Paul’s West Tamworth during this time of change.
Darrell is currently serving as the senior minister at St Paul’s, West Tamworth and has previously served in the parishes of Walcha, Boggabilla, Tenterfield, and the St Mark’s Chapel UNE. Darrell was an Archdeacon for 18 years in the Archdeaconries of MacIntyre and New England and was a member of Diocesan Council from 2004 to 2021. His wife Elizabeth, has served as President of the Armidale Diocesan branch of Mother’s Union for the past 6 years where she has had an important role in upholding the gospel both locally and nationally. She has also been actively involved in the Ministry Wives Conferences, Sunday school and scripture.
