Early this year the Armidale Diocese completed the purchase of a 10 hectare property in the new growth area of Moore Creek on the outskirts of Tamworth. The property is ideally situated, sandwiched between a new housing subdivision and the Moore Creek Road campus of the Diocese's Calrossy Anglican School. The plan is to use the front portion of the property to build a new church to service this rapidly growing community, and the rear portion to extend the Calrossy block.
Now that we have the property, the first priority is to renovate the residence that is on the block so that a church planter can move in and get the church side of things started. On Saturday 9 March 2019, a team put together from St. Peter's and St. Paul's churches in Tamworth descended on the property, and within three hours the place was given a complete clean out. It was a tremendous effort, with three truck loads going to the Tamworth Community Recycling Centre, and a ute load going to the St. John's op shop. The place is now ready for the workmen to come in and do their stuff. A big thank you to all involved.
